On my last night in New Orleans, I had the opportunity to visit my favorite flea market: Frenchmen Art Market.  The thing that made Small Change Finery my favorite booth was this necklace...

Small Change Finery was born from the Tom Wait's song entitled 'Hold On'. Obsession quickly turned into production. Embellished serving spoons, ornate cocktail forks, antique butter knives…all became jewelry. Spent bullet shells, antique drawer pulls, scrapped pieces of brass instruments have also been added to the mix. Some pieces find me at yard and estate sales, others at antique and thrift sh...oppes. Each of them have a unique story to tell. After the cutting, grinding, drilling brushing and buffing, they are given new life.

Company founder and Chief Designer Holly WIlliams is a native New Jersian who found her home to be New Orleans in 2010. She studied Fine Arts at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and is currently furthering her education at New Orleans School of Metalsmithing. Small Change Finery wares are available in the greater New Orleans area and San Francisco.

Source I also need the other necklaces that say "nope", "badass", "nola.", and "fuck off."  See where I'm going with this? Lol.  Any who, Small Change Finery includes a host beaucoup handmade necklaces, earrings and bracelets made with hardware, natural materials and silverware.

If you aren't lucky enough to be in the New Orleans area shop online, here!

In a new case of soap files *insert X-Files theme music here*

If you've been with me for a while, you know that I love trying new soaps.  Secondly, I haven't done a product review in a while so this should suffice...

Although I prefer to purchase my soaps from Whole Foods and other natural grocery stores, I did not feel like  After all, I was already at Kroger but I digress.  So, I browsed the soap aisle and was so excited to see Yardley's Oatmeal and Almond soap (which happens to be my favorite ingredients).

Product Information:
  • Enriched with sweet almond & hints of oatmeal.
  • Rich, exfoliating lather will protect skin's moisture.
  • Delicious, unforgettable scent.
Bonus points: This soap is gentle enough to use as a facial cleaner.
Semi...sort of, review:
This soap smells like heaven.  Once again, this soap smells like heaven.  It lathers really well and gave my skin a squeaky clean feeling which is odd for a moisturizing soap.  But for 1 buck and some change, I'll recommend it.  For more soap collections, where to buy, and whatever else information companies feel the need to put on their websites, visit Yardley!

Hey guys, it's been a while!  Last week sucked but luckily I had a mini vacation to New Orleans planned.  Thank Gosh!  Any who, I'm back and my first order of business is to gossip with you about Love in the City.

Interestingly, Kiyah was a blur for me so let's move on to the other storylines.

Bershan did another warrior event.  Why does this feel like Deja vu?  During the party planning, Tiffany broke up with Chicken Nugget Brian.  All she wanted was for him to say, I messed up, you're all I need, and this will NEVER happen again.  This dude just could not say it!  You know why?  Because he doesn't feel that way.  To make matters worse, he departed the relationship with her computer, Chanel purse and WIG!  Brian, you are a true F*** Boy and we look forward to never seeing you again :) #ByeFelicia

Oh...weren't we talking about Bershan?  Yawn. Let me continue...  Bershan's warrior party featured makeovers from Kiyah and a photoshoot from Chenoa.  Tiffany could not follow directions to save her life.  Bershan wanted her to send a photo via jpeg but she wanted to reveal this giant photo.  As a result, they pulled her but later let her speak on the obstacles she overcame as a result of Breast Cancer.

Last but not least, we witnessed Chenoa and Carlyle come to terms with their relationship (or lack there of).  Both are not willing to budge on their feelings about having kids so looks like they'll be heading towards a divorce.  I hate that...

At some point, we're going to have to dust off our library cards because they're are so many cool books out...

In The Confidence Code, journalists Shipman and Kay travel to the frontiers of neuroscience on a hunt for the confidence gene and reveal surprising new research on its roots in our brains. Their investigation leads them to do their own genetic testing, with unexpected results. They visit the world’s leading psychologists who explain how we can all chose to become more confident simply by taking action and courting risk, and how those actions change our physical wiring. They interview women leaders from the worlds of politics, sports, the military and the arts to learn how they have tapped into this elemental resource. They examine how a lack of confidence impacts our leadership, success, and fulfillment.
Ultimately, they argue, while confidence is partly influenced by genetics, it is not a fixed psychological state. You won’t discover it by thinking positive thoughts or telling yourself (or your children) that you are perfect as you are. You won’t find it either by simply squaring your shoulders and faking it. But it does require a choice: less worrying about people-pleasing and perfection and more action, risk taking, and fast failure.
Inspiring, insightful, and persuasive, The Confidence Code shows that by acting on our best instincts and by daring to be authentic, women can feel the transformative power of a life on confidence.
These ladies are also the authors of Womenomics (which I also have but haven't had a chance to read).

Womenomics, the groundbreaking New York Times bestseller by Claire Shipman and Katty Kay, is an invaluable guide for this generation of professional women, provide knowledgeable advice on how to “Work Less, Achieve More, Live Better.” Shipman and Kay, two TV journalists well acquainted with the stress of the workplace, describe the new economic trends that offer today’s overworked working women more professional and personal choices than ever before. At last, you no longer have to do it all to have it all—Womenomics shows you how.

Happy reading :)

Today, I'm going to do something different.  I'm going to both acknowledge and start with Tiffany, lol.

In this episode, Tiffany further proved that she's not really a part of the group by not hiring Chenoa and Kiyah, her "friends" for her campaign.  Also, Brian "hurt her feelings" (her words, not mine) by sending inappropriate texts to other women.

Brian, my dude...  You've just moved in with Tif and you keep getting caught!  Any who, Kiyah encouraged her to work on her relationship and not abandon it.  From what we learned about Tiffany, she doesn't stick around for the bull and I'd be ok if she dumps Brian.  He looks like a chicken nugget...

Bershan introduced us to her surrogate.  Bershan told everyone she was mixed which she is true but not with black, lol.  While I applaud her for choosing a PYT to carry her baby, she doesn't seem too bright...

Carlyle annoyed Chenoa and us all by harassing Chenoa while she worked on the Girbaud campaign.  I'm glad she realized that she's the priority since they're separated.

The most entertaining storyline of the night was Kiyah's.  She was sooo excited for Raz to visit from Russia.  Turns out, the purpose of his trip was to dump her.  Once arriving to Kiyah's apartment, he was very sassy and demanded food and for her to shut up so her could get rest, lol.  Later he met the girls who like him for one good second.  Once they started grilling him, it was clear that Raz did not want to be a baby daddy and was moving back to Russia ASAP.  Nothing like being dumped in front of your friends and on national TV...  Don't let the door hit you on the way out Raz!

Mango's Premium Knot Linen-Blend Top $49.99
No seriously, I do.  I've sold and or donated most of my clothes and am lacking spring and summer clothing *insert violins here*  Any who, I'm hoping that rebuilding my spring/summer collection won't take long nor be too expensive...

So far, my list includes florals, whites, and other bright colors.  I want pumps, wedges and sandals in black, nude, neon and even clear (or jelly).  I'm also in love with crop tops.  Not the belly crop tops but just like the picture to your right.

Where will I be shopping?  I'm actually going to start with thrift/consignment stores.  Then, I'm going to visit the usual suspects: H&M, Zara, Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Asos, BCBG, JCPenny, Target and Aldo.  With all those stores and the upcoming Memorial Day sales, I should find something, right?

My perfect price is 30 bucks.  Shoes, 30 bucks...SOLD! Tops, 30 bucks...SOLD! Jeans, 30 bucks....SOLD!

Although online shopping presents the most options, I'm really excited to shop next weekend when I travel to my home city (New Orleans).

Who wants to donate? :)

By midday yesterday, I could tell I wasn't going to be doing anything so I set my timer to watch Love in the City.

Guess we'll get this party started with my favorite: Chenoa.  The scene opens with her meeting Caryle at his donut shop so she can get a glimpse of the space she'll be designing.  Once Caryle arrived, he was very stank!  She feels something has changed but I think he was on his cycle...  Later in the episode we see Chenoa interview and offered a photography position at Girbaud.  Haven't heard of that brand since 85' but I'm glad they're moving in a more creative direction...

Kiyah's opening scene shows her teaching a weavalicious class.  Next, someone informs her that her sister has been blowing up her phone and as expected...she wanted nothing, lol.  Requesting family time is nothing someone should be blowing her phone up about.  This leads to Kiyah hitching a ride with  Bershan (and her two annoying pooches) to their hometown of DC. In typical family fashion, they get all in Kiyah's business and talk about her lack of emotional healing regarding her mother's death.  Later, Kiyah, her sister and aunt visit her mother's grave where she's able to say all the things she never got a chance to say.

Speaking of Bershan, she checks on her dad who has experienced health issues as a result of a car accident.  She pretty much annoyed him the whole time she was there, lol.  Old people are very stubborn and get agitated easily.

Welp that's it until next week... Did I miss anyone???  No, I'm kidding.  In this episode we see Tiffany pick with her boyfriend about all the women he knows.  I wouldn't be too fond with a guy who knows a ton of women but it seems like the issue is more within her...  We also meet Tiffany's mom.  Apparently, they've had a rocky relationship due to her mother choosing men, alcohol and other vices over Tiffany.  Last but not least, Tiffany gets implants as a result of her double mastectomy.  I've picked on Tiffany since the beginning of this series but she is a strong cookie!

Of course, I wasn't able to catch this episode when it aired Saturday.  And, because I waited until the last minute to pack for Augusta, I only saw the first 5 minutes on Sunday, errr!  But as soon as I landed last night, I got all caught up.

I don't know if it was because I was sleepy but this episode was a bit of a blur, lol.  Kiyah got an apartment, finally.  I know how it feels to have people in my space.  After 2 days (yes, I said 2 days), it becomes annoying.

Any who, Chenoa storyline still appears to be the most interesting.  She's considering a second wife to provide her husband with his domestic needs which leaves her free to be a wild flower.  She started this search at a lesbian bar...

Bershan spent the episode buying lingerie and allowed Chenoa to shoot her so she could spice things up with her hubby.  I'm not really clear on what Breshan does for a living and I know NYC women are dependent and all *insert Destiny Child's Independent Woman* but if my husband was traveling the way he does, I would be with him as much as I could...  But like I said, I don't know this woman's life.

Last but not least, Tiffany continued to prove that she's a snorefest.  Was she even in this episode?  Sorry, that was mean.

Not sorry.
